Artist’s Note

I was drawn to the silence of this place. The greyscale palette allowed me to strip the scene down to its essence: absence and the weight of time. What interested me was not what remains, but what lingers: traces of use, of presence, of shared moments now gone. The painting holds space for quiet reflection, where memory feels close, even without being seen.

The Work 

A grayscale countryside landscape depicting an abandoned house and empty picnic tables beneath bare branches. The restrained palette and stillness of the scene evoke a quiet sense of absence, inviting reflection on time, memory, and what once was.
